Semester 1
Name of assignment- Timed Writing: Investigation 0 (Big History Project)
Teacher- Ms. Terry |
For this assignment, we were given a prompt and needed to compose an essay responding to it. The prompt was, “To what extent has the Modern Revolution been a positive or a negative force?” I chose to be on the negative side, discussing how materialistic ideals run society.

Reflection
I’d say this assignment addresses global awareness because I had to cover how the revolution globally affected the world we live in. I’m most proud of how well I executed the essay; it’s probably one of my favourite essays I’ve ever written, and I got an A+. The challenging part of this assignment was that we all had the same notes that were taken the day prior. If I could change something about this assignment, I’d change one sentence that didn’t make sense. I know what I was trying to say, but I didn’t have enough time to review every mistake.
Name of assignment- Socratic Seminar
Teacher- Ms. Terry |
For this assignment, the students were grouped and assigned to bring up their original claim on the topics given. The first claim is based on anything class-related, and the second claim is supposed to be thought-provoking yet appropriate.

Reflection
This Socratic seminar provided a lot of Communication skills because we had to patiently listen to each speaker as well as pitch in our thoughts when we thought it was appropriate. This project will help us if we're ever in a business meeting. I'm proud of how well the group I was assigned to worked together, and we were all very proficient and understanding of each other
