Name of assignment: Logo design
Teacher: Ms. Marsh |
For this assignment, we had to create a logo of our name and there was a list of requirements that had to be included. The requirements were like two right angles, three obtuse angles, etc. My logo design had my name beautifully displayed down along with the word math after it, because it has to be a math logo.

The 21st century skill I think brings this assignment is Communication skills because even though we weren't in groups, we read and learned about all the vocabulary and different angles together. Using that information, we helped each other to create logos fitting all the requirements, we also had some presentations to show our class. This assignment expresses to my teacher that I understand the research that was put into discovering these angles. I'm most proud of how neat the finished product looks, and how color-coordinated it was. I'd say I improved by putting more effort in work and how I was able to use the knowledge I had. I think I could improve by not putting the word "math" in it because I learned after that putting that word was not mandatory, and it was more for people with shorter names. But putting the word made things easier so I had more space to work with. This assignment relates to past lessons in this class, and in other places, when we take about shapes or in art we learn about angles and colors. This can help me in the future now that I'm more informed about the multiple angles and the math language.
Name of assignment- Apartment Project
Teacher- Ms. Marsh |
For this assignment, we had to get into a group of four and create a blueprint design for an 800 square feet apartment. We then had to use the geometry we learned to do the reflection, transformation, rotation, and dilation of the print. Our apartment complex is still nameless since we're still working on it, but we've narrowed the location down to either London or New York.

The 21st century skill that was used during this project was Interpersonal skills. This is a group project where I had to cooperate with my classmates and have a teamwork. Since we all kind of knew each other, it was easier to get the work done and not have issues. I can see development in this specific skill because how we come together and express our ideas to make one big plan that we agree on. The most difficult thing we had to do was making the floor plan to a realistic scale of square feet. If I had to redo this project I would make the drawn lines more neatly, even though it's not a big deal. This project relates back to a lot of designing and planning projects inside and outside of school. I remember when I was younger how much I loved making floorpans of houses. Applying this to the future is very easy because you can use the math, the designing and the scaling to engineering and architecture.
