Semester 1
Name of assignment- Junior Project
Subject- Junior Seminar Teacher- Ms. Cassie |
Students choose something rigorous, researched based, and driven to do and make a project out of it. My Junior project is to create an up-cycling thrift store at KCS for high-schoolers to donate clothes as well as free thrifting. The presentation is what I have so far.

Reflection
This assignment represents my Creativity and Independent Skills because of how I am constructing an entire self made project myself. I turn ideas into actions and events, hence the shop opening! I’m proud on how much I’m able to achieve so far, I managed to get more than enough clothing donations to start the shop and just have to clean the room and make a few signs. I developed this skill more by how I reached out and spread my ideas to others and getting different types of feedback. For example, I kept reaching out to big clothe donating companies and they didn’t respond, so I changed my approach and reached out to community churches which helped me with a big step. Overall it made me realize that things really do come within communities and work better rather than big constructed companies. So far, not having people donating enough clothes was a big obstacle in my way. The general idea of the project relates to other times I’ve helped the community with my ideas such as making a Hope t-shirt and sending out to a charity in Nigeria called Land of Hope. I can apply this to the future if I were ever able to construct company very similar to to in my career.
Semester 2
Name of assignment- Money, Credit, and Other Adulting stuff
Subject- Junior Seminar Teacher- Ms. Cassie |
For this assignment, we got into groups of two and had to pick a topic in the category of budgeting (credit, accounts, etc.). Sua P. was my partner and we decided to make a slide on the types of accounts. We covered checkings, savings, joint, CD, and IRA accounts.

Reflection
I believe this assignment represents Financial, Economic, and Business Literacy due to how we deep dived into the money world and learned more about what accounts there as well as what they do. I’m most proud of how fast my team and I managed to get this project done and not have to stress. I definitely improved my skills with this project because I had no idea what each account was really for and how old you have to be to open one. The most difficult thing about this project was not knowing who I would get paired with and what topic we should do because it was a lottery. If I had to redo this, I would probably add a few more accounts that are common today. This project relates to past classes in Junior Seminar when we had to track our spending and budgeting for a week. I can apply this to the future by using my debit card and eventually opening other accounts when I’m an adult.
