Semester 1
Name of assignment- Frankenstein Empires Research and Presentation
Teacher- Ms. Terry |
For this assignment, we had group projects where we take our knowledge from four different empires in history and create our own. My group consists Shayne, Katelyn, and Cesar and we chose Egypt as the country for our empire.

Reflection
This assignment represents Interpersonal Skills. We worked as a team to make the presentation. Then we got into different groups to present individually. I think we did a good job to make it aesthetically pleasing and we made sure everyone did their part. I also think Global Awareness was a skill that improved with all of us due to studying geography, which we don't learn, and having the knowledge now of that specific country.. The only challenge about this project was the time crunch. We felt we had very limited time to work and started stressing. If I could redo this assignment, I would be more focused to start planning out who does what in class instead of texting and having miscommunications.
Semester 2
Name of assignment-Socratic Seminar
Teacher- Ms. Terry |
For this assignment, we were put into three random groups and each had to fill out a paper with three claims: one about shakespeare, one about what we recently learned (World Wars), and one was anything of our choice. Each group had around 30 minutes to have a discussion and bring up each topic. We were graded on participation and communication skills, as well as giving room for other speakers. My three claims were “Romeo and Juliet is a better play than The Tempest” , “World War II wouldn’t have happened if Hitler got accepted into art school” , and “Books are better than movies/shows”. My group did the best out of all three, due to having a good flow of conversation.

Reflection
I would say this socratic seminar represents Communication Skills because we all had to come together and verbally express our thoughts and claims from paper to the group. It improved my ability to bring up questions along with speaking up when I had thoughts. I’m most proud of how the teacher liked our discussion the most, resulting in an A+. I really enjoyed this project because none of us were that shy, and that made it easier for us to have a good discussion and no awkward silence.
